Schools have our kids for 6-7 hours a day! How is it they cannot adequately teach our children during that extensive time? I don't send my kids to school to just have to home school them for an additional 3 hours a day. My kids didn't seem to have the first clue about how to do their homework and we ended up teaching them from scratch. I would be surprised if I ever saw a writing assignment that I didn't personally have a hand in as homework. Is ANY work actually done in class??? All of that "homework" should have been done in class with the teacher helping, not me. Homework should only be assigned if testing showed the student needed additional practice and parents need to be involved to catch them up. Otherwise, the children should be taught "in class".
