Well, that explains why all women think that all men that approach them are weirdos, psychopaths and murderers since they are the only ones crazy enough to even try.

But I met my wife by approaching with the line "who might you be" and she was impressed that I made the approach. So apparently, the only thing you need to do to make yourself really stand out from the crowd is to make the approach, because it is extremely rare for a guy to shoot his shot (unless he's just plain crazy like the aforementioned psychopaths).
