Yes, I saw that sentence, and it says “A 2015 study by the American Sociological Association found”, so the 90% statistic should be supported by this actual study. If you click on the link of the actual study:

Can you find in the article that was referred to , the actual source of the 90% figure? I don’t think so. The divorcemag.com article did not “author” that statistic, so they cannot be relied upon as the source.

So, while it was said “ College-educated women initiate divorce at an even higher rate: 90%.” in the article from https://www.divorcemag.com/blog/why-do-women-initiate-divorce-more-than-men

You’re just quoting an unsupported statistic from a secondary source. The divorcemag.com article appears to have completely made up that statistic. There are lies, damn lies and then statistics.

Now I generally agree with your thesis that marriage isn’t what it is cracked up to be. Living together with someone 24 x 7 has just got to be unavoidably annoying. Perhaps some people are better off just being boyfriend and girlfriend. Our expectations are way out of whack with reality and we’re just too spoiled to expect anything less than perfection. I’d like that 90% figure to be true, but I never been able to find the actual source for that statistic in the past or now. One should be careful about passing around second hand statistics such as the one found in the divorcemag.com article.
