You don't need an opening line. Just look and smile and be next to the guy. If you are somewhere like the gym, then do it often and don't wear headphones. He should get the message and introduce himself if he is interested and available. That's the way it should work. You just have to let him know it is OK to approach. No women do this, so it should be pretty obvious.
